Waive: To disclaim, renounce.
Ward: Someone legally declared unable to take care of themselves and who has had a guardian appointed.
Warrant: A written order or authorisation to carry out a specific act.
Warranty: Oral, written or implied undertaking that a product has certain characteristics or is of a certain quality.
Whole life insurance: Protection which is in force as long as premiums are paid.
Will: A document where a person gives direction for the disposal and/or management of property after death.
Wind up: Conclude the affairs of a business organisation.
Witness: A person who gives evidence legal proceedings.
Writ: A summons, order made by a court which requires a person to do or not do a specific act.
Wrong: An infringement of a right or rights.
Wrongful death: Death caused by a wilful act or negligence of another person.
